cringeMachine is an prototype that attempts to investigate the implications of architectural objects with agency.
If our environment is able to track and react to our behaviour, how might an architectural insertion operate as an
interface between public actors, as well as digital and physical spatial systems?
Currently a work in progress, the installation includes a sensor array consisting of 20 LED cells, a microphone, speakers and an ultrasonic proximity detector. The installation observes activity in its immediate vicinity and responds through generative sound compositions and changes in light and colour.
